Showing up for our community
One of the greatest privileges of our work is getting to know the incredible people behind the businesses and organizations we serve. So, we're setting our own news aside to shine a light on two friends of Big Spoon who could use a little extra support. If you're looking for a simple way to make a difference, here are two opportunities to show up for our community.
Positive Vibes Foundation
Positive Vibes Foundation has spent nearly two decades creating opportunities for young adults with disabilities through workforce training, life skills, and meaningful community connections. We've been fortunate to partner with their team and witness firsthand the passion behind their mission.
Their 4th Annual Beach Bash Fundraiser is their biggest fundraising event of the year, helping ensure they can continue providing life-changing programs for the people they serve.
Ways to help:
• Attend the Beach Bash fundraiser.
• Bid in the online silent auction, even if you can't attend.
• Share the event with friends and family who enjoy supporting local nonprofits.
Our friends at 1115 Mobile Kitchen will always be part of the Big Spoon family. Last weekend, their food truck was struck by an ambulance while they were prepping to serve customers, leaving the truck totaled and forcing the team to cancel events while navigating a difficult road ahead.
True to who they are, they're continuing to serve the community from a pop-up tent kitchen while working through insurance and planning their next chapter. It's the kind of resilience that's easy to root for.
Ways to help:
• Visit one of their pop-up locations and enjoy a meal.
• Purchase a support T-shirt.
• Help spread the word by sharing their story.
