Housekeeping Alert: Save Money on Your Google Workspace Account
The most recent Google Workspace price increase is a great reminder to do a little digital “spring (or fall, or winter) cleaning.” For many business owners, this is something that’s easily pushed to the backburner, but it could be costing you money.
We recommend taking a few minutes to review the number of users on your Google Workspace account. If you’ve got former employees or inactive accounts still hanging around, you could be spending hundreds of dollars a year on seats you don’t actually need.
Why this matters:
Google’s pricing is based on the number of active users. And with unknown additional increases potentially on the horizon—especially for customers on a Flexible Plan—every unused account adds up.
What you can do:
Audit your user list and remove any inactive or unnecessary accounts.
Consider switching from a Flexible Plan to an Annual Plan to lock in a lower per-user rate. It’s too late for this most recent price increase, but this move has the potential to save you money on future price hikes.
Check with your admin or IT provider to make the change.
This issue is one that can impact other email providers (such as Outlook), not just Gmail. The above quick steps can make a big difference in your budget—and ensures you’re only paying for the tools you actually use.
